Réjean Carrier

Over nearly four decades as a professional engineer, Réjean has carried out many large-scale industrial projects, gaining experience in both corporate and project management.
Currently, Réjean devotes his efforts to the development of renewable energy projects and low carbon footprint solutions. Previously, he was particularly active in mega-projects in aluminium smelting, mining operations and mineral processing, as well as hydroelectric facilities.
Réjean holds a degree in Geological Engineering from Laval University.
Kimberly Darlington
President and Founder
Refined Substance Inc.
Kimberly has more than two decades of experience in the fields of marketing, communications, investor relations, and public relations across a wide variety of industries. In 2012 she turned her sights on applying her skills and experience to the mining industry and founded Refined Substance, a Montréal-based company that takes the substance of what mining and exploration companies seek to communicate and refines it so that it resonates with targeted audiences and stakeholders. The company offers strategic communications and marketing services tailored to the mining industry in both English and French.
Kimberly is on the Board of the Québec Mineral Exploration Association (AEMQ in French), and is a past Chair of the Montreal chapter of Women in Mining, a global organization dedicated to the promotion and recognition of women pursuing careers in the mining sector.
Ramzi Fawaz
Development and Execution
Ramzi is a Mining and Metals executive, most recently the President and CEO of Ambler Metals LLC, located in Anchorage, Alaska. In 2019, Ramzi retired from Newmont Mining Corporation, where he served as the Senior Vice President of Projects since 2011. He was responsible for the development and execution of Newmont’s global major gold & copper projects, including the Akyem Project in Ghana, the Conga Project in Peru, the Merian Project in Suriname, the Tanami Expansion Project in Australia, and the Phoenix Copper Leach, Turf Ventilation Shaft, and Long Canyon projects in Nevada.
Prior to joining Newmont, Ramzi served as Senior Vice President Operations of Atomic Energy Canada Ltd. and Vice President of Royal Dutch Shell. Ramzi has vast experience in international project development. Throughout his career, Ramzi has engaged extensively with various stakeholders related to major development projects, including executive management, boards of directors, shareholders, contractors, utilities and various government agencies. During his working career, Ramzi was also actively involved in providing coaching and training, in project management, to numerous members of Newmont Goldcorp and Royal Dutch Shell staff. Ramzi has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon and a Master’s degree in Power Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.
Johnny Rungtusanatham
Operations, Business Analytics, and Information Systems
Johnny is Ohio Eminent Scholar and Professor in the Department of Operations, Business Analytics, and Information Systems at the Lindner College of Business of the University of Cincinnati.
He joined the Lindner College of Business after spending four years as the Canada Research Chair in Supply Chain Management at the Schulich School of Business, York University. A 2017 Fellow inductee of the Decision Sciences Institute, he is an awards-winning researcher and educator, recognized as one of the top 50 authors of operations management research and of supply chain management research and one of the top contributors to the field of Operations Management, according to published sources.
His research is supported by grants totaling more than CAD$1,400,000 and US$295,000, with his 65+ publications related to quality management, mass customization, and supply chain disruptions and relationships having appeared in top academic and business journals. His current research focuses on attributes, triggering events, performance consequences, and mitigation of supply disruptions. He has also co-authored two introductory operations management textbooks and five teaching cases.
